About the Event

This is a local adventure you must try.

It is a nice float that will also challenge your mindset and phisical balance as you navigate with the current of the river.

Bring your own float, kayak, river tube, inflatable, or whatever you want to float on.

LIMITED TO 10 FLOATING ADULTS ONLY. Although this activity is suitable for the whole family, this activity has space for 10 floaters adults. BUT, non-floater guests can stay at the park and wait for  you to come back. Picnic at La Llorona park is permitted so you can plan a nice day with more guests.

Meeting point is at "La Llorona Park" 3440 W Picacho Ave, Las Cruces, NM.

  • 7:00 am - We meet at la Llorona Park
  • 7:15 to 7:45 am - 30 minute River Meditation (bring a floor blanket or a yoga mat)
  • 7:45 am - We will drive some cars to the exit point (Mesilla Valley Bosque State Park) and come back to La Llorona Park.
  • 8:00 am - Everyone jumps into the river from La Llorona Park.
  • 9:30 am - We reach the exit point (Mesilla Valley Bosque State Park) and drive back to la Llorona Park. Please note that this time might be longer depending on the current of the river.
  • 10:00 to 11:00 am - We are back at la Llorona Park and you are welcome to stay and relax. Bring some drinks and food if you want.

BUT WHY SO EARLY?

  • Overall, for a more enjoyable and safer paddling experience.
  • Because the water is often calmer and more peaceful, as winds tend to be lighter.
  • Ther is less people and traffic in the early morning.
  • Wildlife is often more active in the early morning, so you may have the opportunity to see birds, fish, and other animals in their natural habitat.
  • The morning light also tends to be softer and more flattering, creating beautiful reflections on the water and enhancing the overall scenery.
  • Lastly, floating in the morning allows you to start your day with a refreshing outdoor activity, setting a positive tone for the rest of the day.

IMPORTANT RECOMMENDATIONS:
